We have a variety of consultation types to effectively bridge your gap to better health. Ultimately, we want to set you up with the tools to be able to effectively and independently integrate exercises into your life – and feel great about it! Exercise shouldn’t be a chore and it certainly shouldn’t be painful – we want to work with you to find the right balance so you can reap the rewards that exercise has to offer. Whether you are recovering from an injury or surgery, have chronic pain, or have been diagnosed with medical condition, we can teach you how to exercise right.
Most of the time, you will be able to achieve great results with a personalised home exercise program, which we will review with you intermittently to make sure you’re on track and always progressing. For those who like the gym, or are interested in gym-based exercise, we have access to full gym facilities and can set you up with a program to target your goals.
We also run group sessions to allow patients to exercise at a level above what they are able to achieve at home:
I [heart] Exercise
This group is perfect for those who have completed hospital-based Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab and are looking for further exercise. You will be setup with a program specifically tailored to your needs which you can move through at your own pace within the centre. Our Exercise Physiologists are on hand to help you with your technique and progress your program when you are ready. This group is designed for those who have heart disease, have had open heart surgery, or who have cardiovascular risk-factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, overweight or a strong family history of heart disease.
Hip & Knee Rehab
After a total hip/knee replacement, you often finish your hospital rehab and are left thinking, “what now?”. This group is perfect to allow you to keep restoring strength and mobility to your new joint. We also understand that everyone recovers differently, so you’re going to need your own program that is appropriate for where you are at. Everyone is our Hip & Knee Rehab group has their own program which they can work through at their own pace – this will compliment your home program which will also be personally prescribed. Our Exercise Physiologists are on hand to help you with your technique and progress your program when you are ready.
